COMPASS
A compass is an instrument used for navigation and orientation. This metaphor recognises the vital importance of receiving and acknowledging feedback on the current direction you are taking in your life journey.
Internally, you receive feedback constantly in the form of feelings and emotions, which are tools to help you navigate and orient yourself, just like an internal compass.
Both positive and negative, your emotions and feelings are signals about the route you are taking and, when listened to, are a valuable part your guidance system.
Pay attention, very regularly, to your internal feedback and ALLOW them to be PRESENT.
Happiness, contentment, energy and gratitude are signals of well-being - your sails are set correctly and you're on the right track towards achievement of your goals. Over time, this helps build strengths.
Fear, anxiety and stress are signals that attention is required. DO NOT SUPPRESS these. Acknowledge them WITHOUT ACTING ON THEM. Instead look for what they reveal - its valuable information to assist your journey. Fear may indicate that you are nearing the edge of your comfort zone but by turning away from it, you will not broaden your horizons and may never achieve the life you seek.
Remember, the emotion itself is never the problem! The compass is never the problem; it just gives you feedback.
Many people try to control or avoid negative feedback which in turn reinforces the negative emotions.
Read your compass regularly and accurately.
